NDSU staff senate leadership elected

Staff senate recently conducted elections for the next academic year. 

Newly elected senators are Jennifer Donahue, Tiara Harris, Valerie Jones, Annie Keller, Tyre Leapaldt, Andrea Ludwig, Todd Phelps and Amrita Ray. Senators are elected for a two-year term.

Staff senate also elected Joshua "Shwa" Schroetter as president and he will serve one year as president-elect before becoming president for the following year. Also occurring at the meeting was a transition in the president role from Kristi Steinmann to Kay Hopkins, who will serve as president over the next 12 months.

For the Executive Committee roles, Justin Swank was reelected treasurer; Melissa Lamp was elected membership/attendance officer; Daniel Erichsen was reelected information technology officer; Libby Hardwick-Nelson was elected as public relations officer; Amolia Schumacher and Jennifer Young were elected as members at large and April Helgaas was reelected as member at large. All these roles have two-year terms except the members at large, who will serve for one year.

For Staff Senate Joint Committee positions, Todd Phelps, Jennifer Young and Ben Bernard were elected to the Campus Space and Facilities Committee; Ben Bernard was elected as IT Committee Member; Alicia LaFerriere was elected to the Learning Space Advisory Committee and as Library Committee Member; Justin Swank was elected to State Staff Senate; Corey Landowski and Todd Phelps were elected to University Athletics Committee; and Aleisha Lokken was elected as Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee Chair. All roles have one-year terms except for State Staff Senate, which is a three-year term.
